Airsoft Pistols - Choosing the Right One

By Richard Glaspario

Getting ready to buy an air soft pistol? What should you consider before you buy? Not all guns are the same, and like anything else there is a variety of styles and features as well as quality.

Let's start by reviewing the types of firing mechanisms. Will you select a manually powered aka spring loaded gun, or should you pick a gas or electronically powered pistol? Price is only one factor to consider.

Will you be using your airsoft pistol in practice or in competition? The spring loaded type isn't really recommended for combat. The other varieties, gas or electronic, give you more action when you need it most.

The spring airsoft pistol is simple to understand. It converts the potential energy that is created when you pull back the spring into kinetic energy the moment you pull the trigger. This conversion gives your gun the power to send that BB out into the world with a whole lot of force.

What's the downside of choosing a spring air soft gun? It is all about the action. If you need speed you need to consider an automatic or semi-automatic gun. You only get one shot at a time with the spring style. This will hurt you in competition.

The advantages may be enough to sway you to purchase a spring airsoft pistol. They are reliable, and less prone to malfunction under certain conditions such as cold weather. You don?t have to be concerned about running out of fuel or battery power like you would with a gas or electrical gun. As far a dependability, the airsoft spring pistol is your best choice.

Don't forget that you are buying that airsoft pistol for the fun and sporting possibilities. Having a spring pistol in your arsenal is not such a bad thing, and you could even form a spring pistol exclusive competition! - 16089
