By Teresa Brown

There is nothing women do better than go shopping but when a new baby is thrown into the mix the bills start adding up. When it comes to picking up lunch anything fast and cheap become the only option.

However, when you want to lose weight after giving birth you can't depend on those low price high fat goodies. Gyms are fine but they are expensive and time consuming and a busy mom's time is precious. So, rather than spending your money on expensive personal trainers or diet programs, you can use these basic tips to set you on course to lose the pregnancy weight without the high price tag.

A. Pass Up the Fitness Club

Make sure you avoid getting into a complicated gym contract you don't need or won't use. You don't need to leave your house to lose weight after giving birth, you can tone and trim around the house. Get an exercise ball or do some pushups between breakfast and lunch. Have a skipping rope in the garage or basketball net in the backyard no matter what make your home fitness friendly.

B. Cut out the Coffee

Specialty Coffee and Tea drinks aren't only expensive but also full of empty calories which is a double whammy when you are trying to lose weight after giving birth. It isn't cheap filling up on frappuccinos either and if you are popping in your local coffee shop two or three times a week, you could be shelling out up to 20 bucks just on beverages. Also it can be tricky avoiding the delicious fatty scones and cookies that are sold there to accompany your cup of Joe. If you want to stay hydrated but need more than just water, try and stick to juices that are low in fructose sugar and high in vitamins.

C. Be a Personal Coach

One of the many benefits of technology is the DVD and with a fitness DVD you can have a fitness specialist in the comfort of your home. There are many varieties of exercise DVDs to get your heart racing to lose weight after giving birth. The benefit of buying one or two DVDs is that you can use it over and over again unlike buying a set of classes at the gym. DVDs is a less costly and convenient way to get professional training that can fit into your schedule.

Losing weight after giving birth shouldn't cost you a pretty penny if you take things into your own hands. Try and remember that moms for centuries didn't have boot camps or Atkins when losing the baby fat.
