Reduce Excess Stomach Fat

By Jose Loni

Lose excess stomach fat that has accumulated in the stomach area. When we eat large amounts of food and don't use up or burn the calories, the food is converted into fat and stored in our abdomen. Especially, when we overeat, don't do very much physical activity and have a highly stressful life.

Sometimes we eat more food than we can effectively burn with our daily activities. When this occurs, the excess carbohydrates, proteins and fat are converted into fat and accumulated in the stomach area.

Monitoring our food intake and consuming quality foods will help us balance our diet. Also, increasing the frequency of our meals throughout the day and decreasing the portion size will help us to maintain our energy level and stabilize our blood sugar levels.

One key factor in controlling excess stomach fat is exercise. When there is a lack of or the amount of physical activity is not even with our food intake, the excess food is stored as fat in the stomach area. When we increase our exercise patterns, it allows our bodies to increase our metabolism, which allows the body to further burn excess fat from the stomach.

The combination of decreasing food intake and increasing physical activity allows our bodies to burn the food we eat as well as burn off the stored fat in the stomach.

Studies have shown that increased stress causes the release of a hormone called Cortisol, which has been linked to fat storage in the stomach region of the body.

When the body is under stress, it reacts by storing away fat to be able to use it as a fuel in case of emergency. It is the body's way of protecting itself and preparing for an emergency situation.

Reducing excess stomach fat can be achieved by, watching what we eat, how much we eat, increasing our exercise activity and lowering our levels of stress. When we can monitor and control how we react to stress, we are able to decrease the hormones that cause fat storage in the area of the stomach. By controlling these factors, we can reduce excess stomach fat. - 16089
