Using Cofs To Evaluate Your Logo Design

By Stephen Grisham, Sr.

Many people are capable of doing their own web design now, but some of it is best left to professionals. For companies that are looking for a new website design, the results are often better when completed by professional web designers. This is especially true of logo design.

There are, however, a few things that you want to look for in the logos that are presented to you by these companies to make sure your company is getting a logo that will truly work for you. These criteria are color, font, size and originality.

If you are going to be using a color logo, be sure that the colors that are chosen are going to catch peopleas attention. Red, white and blue are considered the three main colors of advertising and are a good option if you are using color. You can also consider colors that have a connection to your business in some way.

Even if you use a color logo, there will be times when you need to use it in black and white. In many publications, it costs quite a bit more to use color. When you are trying to decide on a logo design, make sure it looks good in black and white as well as color. It should be crisp, clean and easy to read if there are words or letters.

You also want to make sure the font is right for your company. If you are a dance studio, you do not want to have an extremely masculine, boxy font, you want something that has a soft flow to it. In the same respect, if youare run a boxing ring you probably do not want to pick a curlicue font.

The size of the logo is also important. Donat just look at it in one size when you are evaluating the design. You never know what you will want to use the logo for in the future. It needs to look good whether you are putting up a big sign in front of your business or having pens printed up to give to your customers.

Finally, make sure your logo is original. This is actually a two sided rule. Fist, you do not want a logo that will be mistaken for another company. If you are going to pay for advertising you want to be sure people know the company that is being advertised for. Second, you want a logo that is going to stand out and grab peopleas attention.

The letters COFS, which stand for color, originality, font and size, can help you remember the four qualities you need to evaluate when choosing your logo design. If you follow these guidelines, youare sure to choose a logo that will give your customers just the right impression of your business. - 16089
